As an Ottawa Boudoir Photographer, we believe that women’s beauty should be celebrated at all ages. Meet Miss M! This badass woman is so inspiring, possessing skills and interests that are multi-faceted to say the least. She dominates in an industry traditionally dominated by men, teaches yoga and teaches workshops to women to help them embrace themselves and discover their inner goddess. This is her story:
Q: What’s going on in your life right now that motivated you to do a session?
Miss M: Change. Change. Change. I have led a very full life and one I am grateful for. The good and ugly experiences have all contributed to who I am and I am grateful for them all. But turning 50 was a milestone – a great one! I have come into myself -physically, emotionally and spiritually and now at 53? I am ready for more change and it started with mountaineering in the alps. This photo shoot was my opportunity to bask in who I am, my comfort level with myself and the changes that have happened and those to come!
Q: Besides beautiful photographs, what else did you hope to get out of the experience?
Miss M: A sense of being able to have fun and have who I am captured at this stage in my life. Suzanne captured who I am at my core. She captured my essence, known to friends and my yoga students as D.
Q: How long had you been considering doing a shoot before you booked yours? What was the final push? What did it feel like to finally book your session?
Miss M: I thought about this when I turned 50, but it was not something I thought about much. once I found the Je m’adore website, I didn’t hesitate in booking a consultation. Once I met Suzanne, booked my session immediately. I found someone who knew what capturing inner beauty, the inner “self” was about.
Q: Before your session, how would you describe your relationship with your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: I have been very comfortable with myself and my sensuality – believe me, it was not always this way! It has taken a lot of work to get to this point and I lead workshops for women on embracing their body and themselves. I wanted the photo shoot to capture my contentment with who I am at this point in my life.
Q: How did doing a session affect how you feel about your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: Unstoppable! Seriously, when I saw the preview slideshow, I cried and I am NOT a crier! But how I see myself was there in front on me. It was a reminder of how far I have come.
Q: What were you worried about before your session? What helped to overcome that?
Miss M: I had no fears or concerns. well, except i had fallen in the gym a few days before and had a monster bruise on my arm.
Q: Tell me about your session day: How did you feel on your way over? What were your favorite parts? How did you feel on the way home?
Miss M: The sensation you have when you’re a kid and it’s Christmas? That was ME! Excited, just excited! I loved the makeover (wow, Ariana is awesome!!!), Suzanne’s ability to create a space for her clients to relax. Everything was as I thought it would be!
Q: What were you feeling when you saw your photos at the viewing?
Miss M: Overwhelmed, humbled.
Q: Why did you decide to hire me as your photographer?
Miss M: Suzanne, your energy is incredible; your talent – out of this world!!! You care and it shows!
Q: If your friend were considering doing a shoot, what would you say to encourage her?
Miss M: Already have told friends and at least one has already booked so far. I told them it’s the best investment a woman can make in herself. PERIOD!
