As an Ottawa Boudoir Photographer, I get to meet some incredible women. For most women, a boudoir session can be very daunting or intimidating, because you are shedding your “layers” in front of a stranger. You may look at a boudoir gallery, and think you could never do this or look as good as the women there. But sometimes you just need to hear from someone who has done, someone you trust, before you make that leap of faith. Meet Miss M! Miss M came to the Je m’adore fine art portrait studio after seeing photos that her friend & colleague had done with us and she felt compelled to do the same for herself! Word of mouth is always the best form of marketing because you trust your friends or family members when they give their feedback or opinion about a business/service they have used.

Q: What’s going on in your life right now that motivated you to do a session?
Miss M: It was my 10 year anniversary with my husband.
Q: Besides beautiful photographs, what else did you hope to get out of the experience?
Miss M: I’m not really sure. It was always something that was in the back of my mind to do. I guess I’ll always have A memory to look back on when I’m old and wrinkled.

Q: How long had you been considering doing a shoot before you booked yours? What was the final push? What did it feel like to finally book your session?
Miss M: It had been a while…at least 5+ years. I always joked with my husband that I would do it for our 5 year anniversary. Seeing a friends photos, pushed me to book and I thought it would be the perfect gift! I was excited when I booked the session.
Q: Before your session, how would you describe your relationship with your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: Not the best. I’m comfortable in my body and my husband loves me the way I am. But I’ve never thought I was beautiful or really enjoyed looking at my body. These pictures CHANGED that.

Q: How did doing a session affect how you feel about your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: I don’t think I’ll ever be one to flaunt my body. But I am definitely more comfortable with it. I’ve been showing all my friends the photos.
Q: What were you worried about before your session? What helped to overcome that?
Miss M: I really wasn’t worried. I was excited to do this!
Q: Tell me about your session day: How did you feel on your way over? What were your favorite parts? How did you feel on the way home?
Miss M: I was pretty relaxed on the way there. I really enjoyed it all. Although I must say. Me in those heels towering over you and saying you’ll catch me, still makes me chuckle 🙂 I felt great on the way home. Couldn’t wait to see the final product!!

Q: What were you feeling when you saw your photos at the viewing?
Miss M: Pretty proud of myself for going for it. I was happy!!!!
Q: Why did you decide to hire me as your photographer?
Miss M: I saw my friends photos and the fantastic job you did!
Q: If your friend were considering doing a shoot, what would you say to encourage her?
Miss M: DO IT!!!!! You’ll be so happy with the whole EXPERIENCE. It doesn’t have to be a gift to someone, it can be a gift to YOURSELF!!!
