At Je m’adore fine art portraits, we like to break stereotypes and create new realities of what sexy is. One common misconception about boudoir photography is only for young “chicks”. Wrong! Boudoir photography is for women of ANY age. It’s never too late to capture your inner goddess. Meet Miss M, a gorgeous lady with such tremendous photogenicity (yup, that’s a word… I looked it up, lol) that she never knew existed. Just because you can’t take a good selfie, doesn’t mean you are not photogenic. And just because you haven’t liked your professional portraits from another photographer, doesn’t mean you are not photogenic…. maybe you simply haven’t met the RIGHT photographer that you are comfortable with and have total confidence in.
Here’s a recent interview with Miss M about her boudoir experience with Je m’adore fine art portraits:
Q: What’s going on in your life right now that motivated you to do a session?
Miss M: I’m in my mid-fifties and I wanted to have some glamorous photos of myself before I get too old.
Q: Besides beautiful photographs, what else did you hope to get out of the experience?
Miss M: I wanted to feel beautiful and surprise my husband with something special.
AGE: 55
Q: How long had you been considering doing a shoot before you booked yours? What was the final push? What did it feel like to finally book your session?
Miss M: It took me about a year or so to do it. The final push was the fact of my 55th birthday looming!
Q: Before your session, how would you describe your relationship with your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: Hair = constant fight. Body = work-in-progress. Beauty = never really felt beautiful. Sensuality = ???
Q: How did doing a session affect how you feel about your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss M: I realized my hair can look gorgeous, my body is nicer than I thought and I can look beautiful. I’ve never had a photo where all of those things came together. Sensuality – still not sure but I am more comfortable in my skin than I was before.
Q: What were you worried about before your session? What helped to overcome that?
Miss M: I was worried it would be weird to be almost naked in front of a camera. What helped was Suzanne’s professionalism. The lady is a pro!
Q: Tell me about your session day: How did you feel on your way over? What were your favorite parts? How did you feel on the way home?
Miss M: I was very nervous on the drive over because I really wasn’t sure how it would go. My favourite parts were….the lying down poses, I felt more relaxed. I also really liked how Suzanne would guide me through poses so I wasn’t on my own trying to figure out how to look good for the camera. On the way home I felt a HUGE sense of accomplishment.
Q: What were you feeling when you saw your photos at the viewing?
Miss M: Shocked at how good I looked in them. I really didn’t expect I would look as good as I did.
Q: Why did you decide to hire me as your photographer?
Miss M: Easy question – your model before and after photos. Most were ordinary women like me, and they all looked so gorgeous in the after photos that I figured, if she can make them look that good she can do something with me. The women all looked relaxed too, unlike other boudoir photographer’s work that I had seen on the internet.
Q: If your friend were considering doing a shoot, what would you say to encourage her?
Miss M: You’re more beautiful than you think….and don’t wait!!!
Thank you so much for your input Miss M… you were a joy to photograph! I know I wish I had photos of myself when I was in my 20’s or even in my 30’s, but why waste time on regrets? Capture the way you are now. Celebrate the present! And that will be the best “present” you could ever give yourself.
