Even BETTER than expected – Ottawa Couples Boudoir Photographer

As an Ottawa Boudoir Photographer, I meet many different women from all ages and at different stages in their lives. Meet Miss A! She had wanted to do a session for years and now that she was pregnant with her first child, she saw it as the perfect opportunity to commemorate this moment of her life before it changed dramatically. She decided she wanted not just a boudoir session, but a couples boudoir session too! Her hubby happily agreed to the idea and I must admit, it makes all the difference when the partner is a willing participant, lol! This couple was such a super cute, fabulous couple and it was a lot of fun to work with them. You could see the love in their eyes for each other that would make your heart melt. Can’t wait to see how gorgeous their baby is!

Q: What’s going on in your life right now that motivated you to do a session?
Miss A:   It was something I’ve always wanted to do before having kids. When I found out I was pregnant that put a rush on it! 😉 No more procrastinating!!

Q: Besides beautiful photographs, what else did you hope to get out of the experience?
Miss A:  I wanted to feel good about it. I knew the photos would be well done but I was concerned how uncomfortable I was would show. It didn’t because in the end I wasn’t as uncomfortable as I expected to be. The atmosphere was very relaxed.

Q: How long had you been considering doing a shoot before you booked yours? What was the final push? What did it feel like to finally book your session?
Miss A:  As I said, getting pregnant really made me go for it. I had been thinking about it for years but always had an excuse to wait.

Q: Before your session, how would you describe your relationship with your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss A:  I was a bit self conscious, I wasn’t in as good of shape as I had hoped to be for that kind of session PLUS being three months pregnant, I couldn’t do much about it. But everything still turned out amazing!!!

Q: How did doing a session affect how you feel about your body, your beauty and your sensuality?
Miss A:  Seeing myself from a different perspective (not just my bedroom mirror) gave me more confidence in my appearance.

Q: What were you worried about before your session? What helped to overcome that?
Miss A:   I was worried about just being awkward in general and not being able to relax enough to get proper expressions in photos.

Q: Tell me about your session day: How did you feel on your way over? What were your favorite parts? How did you feel on the way home?
Miss A:   I felt good. I become more comfortable throughout the session. The hair and makeup was AMAZING! That was a big relief — I was worried it would be awful, since I’ve had that before with another stylist and I would be stuck no looking like myself but it was PERFECT!

Q: What were you feeling when you saw your photos at the viewing?
Miss A:  They were even BETTER than expected. I thought there would only be a few I would like how I looked but they all turned out so good!

Q: Why did you decide to hire me as your photographer?
Miss A:   I did some research and reviewed other portfolios, many other photographers didn’t have the style I wanted or the experience. A few other photographers admitted they had never done this before but were excited to try. I really didn’t want that. Even if couples boudoir wasn’t something you had done a lot of it was important to me that just the single boudoir was excellent. I was nervous already and was not going to pay less to end up with something mediocre. The cost was more than I planned to spend, but given the product we ended up with I would definitely make the SAME choice!

Q: If your friend were considering doing a shoot, what would you say to encourage her?
Miss A:  I would just assure them the atmosphere is very relaxed and you can really lead the session however you like. There is no pressure or mandatory type of photos you must do.
